Two Vice Governors and Board Members of the National Bank of Georgia, Papuna Lezhava and Archil Mestvrishvili, have submitted their resignations, following the NBG’s decision to amend its regulations regarding the enforcement of international sanctions.
“I cannot be a part of a decision that I neither have influence over nor agree with”, - said Mestvrishvili in his comment.
Yesterday, September 19, the NBG lifted restricted access to bank assets and financial transactions to the US-designated former Prosecutor General Otar Partskhaladze.
