Two years ago the Government debt was more than 60% of GDP, it has been reduced to almost 38% - Garibashvili

The Government’s debts have been reduced. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia.

“I would like to remind everyone that two years ago the government debt was more than 60% of GDP. We actively started this process and the government debt has been reduced to almost 38%.

As you all know, poverty and unemployment are at historic lows. Government reserves are at an all-time high, exceeding $5.5 billion. I would also like to say that in the last 10 years, the deposits of our citizens placed in commercial banks have increased almost ten times. The economy is completely different this year than it was 10 years ago.

I repeat once again, this is the result of peace and stability. Otherwise, there would have been any economic growth. I would like to remind everyone that they talked about default 3 years ago, when there were changes in our government. Everything will be fine”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
