The United States has not offered to establish a US military base in Georgia - US State Department

The United States has not offered to establish a U.S. military base in Georgia, according to the United States Department of State.

“The U.S.-Georgia defense relationship has been and continues to be based on enhancing interoperability and supporting Georgia’s ability to deter further aggression and defend its sovereign territory, all of which helps Georgia become more prepared for NATO membership.

NATO classifies Georgia as an Enhanced Opportunities Partner, a special category only for NATO’s close partners that demonstrate significant contributions to NATO operations and other Alliance objectives.

We recently concluded the Agile Spirit joint military exercise with Georgia that works to build interoperability, transparency, and preparation to strengthen our military cooperation with Georgia”, - said a State Department Spokesperson to Accent.
