Ministry of Defence to declassify agreements on Mikheil Saakashvili’s air travel

The Georgian Defense Ministry has initiated the declassification process for agreements related to the air travel of Mikheil Saakashvili - the agency has established a commission to oversee this process in compliance with relevant legislation.

“The decision to declassify these agreements was made due to significant public interest and media coverage. The relevant commission will oversee this process in compliance with legislation.

The confidentiality of these agreements concerns contracts made between the Ministry of Defense and Georgian Airways LLC in 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Notably, two contracts signed with Georgian Airways LLC were already declassified in accordance with a ministerial order from 2012.

The total cost of servicing these agreements, funded from the Ministry of Defense’s budget, amounted to 14 million GEL”, - reads the statement of the agency.
