The employees of Adjara Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of immediate operative-search measures and investigative activities, detained previously convicted E.M. (DoB1972) for robbery.

The committed crime envisions from 5 to 7 years of imprisonment.

The investigation established that the accused person attacked one of the supermarkets in Batumi and illegally appropriated 2000 GEL at gunpoint from the supermarket employee.

In an attempt to escape, the accused person disobeyed the law enforcement officers and made a shot in their direction, after which he was disarmed by policemen and arrested him.

No one was injured as a result of the incident.

Cash acquired through the robbery and the weapon of crime have been seized by the police as evidence.

The investigation of armed robbery is being conducted under Article 179 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
