The employees of Guria Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational measures and investigative actions, arrested 2 people for drug-related crimes.
E.B. (DoB 1969) is accused of illegal selling of narcotic drugs, while previously convicted J.B. (DoB 1971) is accused of illegal purchase and possession of narcotic drugs.
The committed crimes envision 20 years or life imprisonment.
The police, on the basis of the judge’s decision, carried out complex operative-search measures and secret audio-video recording in several stages throughout 40 days in order to detect drug crimes.
The investigation established that E.B. worked at the LLC “Mental Health and Drug Addiction Prevention Center” in Kobuleti, where he abused his position for criminal activities and illegally obtained narcotics. Gradually, he illegally appropriated drugs intended for 860 beneficiaries, which he illegally sold to J.B.
During the personal search and search activities held in his workplace, the law enforcement officers seized 22 units of 10 ml. syringes, full of “methadone” drug. During the search of E.B.’s residence, 2.5 liters of “methadone” solution were removed as evidence. It was divided in three plastic bottles.
After conducting the search event, the police sealed “Mental Health and Drug Addiction Prevention Center LLC”.
The investigation into the facts of illegal possession of a particularly large amount of narcotics by misusing powers, illegal selling of drugs, and illegal keeping and purchasing drug substances in large quantities is being conducted under Article 260, III, V and VI parts of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
