Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia actively continues its efforts in order to detect the so-called fraudulent call centers.
As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities carried out by the employees of the Agency, on September 01 of the current year, the so-called alleged criminal call center was detected, operating in Tbilisi, which carried out suspicious activities through up to 20 employees engaged in the office. As a result of investigative activities carried out within the office, large amount of electronic devices carrying information, including computer equipment, were seized. The bank accounts and real estates of the managers of the “call center” were also freezed.
Investigation is proceeding under the Articles 180, 194 and 218 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisage imprisonment from 6 to 9 years.
