Parliament has practically completed working on EU membership priorities - Maka Botchorishvili

The Parliament had practically completed its work on the priorities outlined by the European Council in 2022 for granting the state the European Union membership candidate status. Such a statement made today the Chairperson of the European Integration Committee of the legislature.

Maka Botchorishvili highlighted the Government’s need to actively work with the European Commission to provide information about the significant progress in its fulfilment of the recommendations.

“It was important to hear the EU’s assessment of the steps already taken. The Commission would begin working on a report which would assess Georgia’s progress on the path to receiving the status, and would create a foundation for a political decision in December”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.

During the official visit to Brussels, she is set to meet representatives of Belgium, Spain, Lithuania and Hungary to discuss Georgia’s European integration.
