The United National Movement presented the interim report of the working group created by the party in connection with the natural disaster in Racha, which occurred on August 3. According to the Chairman of the party, there was a 12-person working group in the disaster zone, whose main goal was to study the facts and circumstances of people’s deaths during the tragedy in Shovi.

“Our citizens deserve an answer from the Government regarding the Shovi tragedy. Our citizens deserve to know in detail whose guilt is evident, because of whom, because of whose official indifference, certain victims could not be avoided.

Accordingly, the UNM carried out investigative activities from August 3 to August 15. Within 12 days, we have prepared an interim report, the tragedy and chronology of August 3 have been fully restored.

Even from the interim report, where there is a lot of information and evidence, the indifference of specific high officials, which the citizens of Georgia have suffered, can be seen. A delayed reaction is observed, it is observed that, unfortunately for us, the Prime Minister reacts late, moreover, in fact, he arrives at the place after 24 hours. Therefore, society needs specific answers to specific questions.

We have an obligation, and especially, of course, the government, not to engage in political quarrels, but to inform the public with specific answers. Everyone should understand this, including the Defense Minister, who was slow to react to deploy troops.

The Minister of Infrastructure, who in the evening, when people needed help, used to come flirt with us from different rooms, that is, the government, instead of conducting a rescue operation, actually abandoned the citizens during the night.

Therefore, even in this 24-page report, which is still interim and it is clear that the UNM will bring the investigative actions to the end, the criminal liability of specific high officials is outlined”, - said Levan Khabeishvili.

As he added, the main document will be presented in the next few days, which will be introduced to people and non-governmental organizations, and at the same time, they will demand the creation of an investigative commission.
