A mass of stone fell from the slope on the Didube-Avchala crossing, near Ksani Street, on the rail tracks at dawn today, says the Georgian Railways.

“As a result of the incident, the Batumi-Tbilisi, Tbilisi-Borjomi and Tbilisi-Batumi trains were temporarily interrupted.

At this stage, the cleaning works of the track of the second direction are underway. As soon as the works are completed, the traffic on the second track will resume as usual, taking into account all safety rules.

At the same time, the location of the stone fall is being inspected and studied by relevant specialists”, - reads the statement.
