Irakli Garibashvili will meet today Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel. The Head of the Georgian Government left for Israel yesterday, August 16. He departed for the State of Israel in the company of a delegation.

The Prime Minister’s visit to Israel will serve as the beginning of many significant initiatives, Lasha Zhvania, the Georgian Ambassador to Israel, said.

“Israel and Georgia have maintained productive relations for years, which have notably escalated recently, as confirmed by the Irakli Garibashvili’s second visit to Israel within a year and a half. It means numerous issues are on the agenda, awaiting discussion and resolution at the highest political level.

The forthcoming negotiations on the free trade agreement, set to begin by 2024, will give a new beginning to our economic partnership, fostering investment inflow into Georgia. Furthermore, our focus extends to military, political, and defence cooperation, as well as regional issues”, - added Lasha Zhvania.
