In Turkey, a new temperature record has been set, in the province of Eskisehir west of Ankara, air warming up to 49.5 degrees Celsius was recorded. This was announced by the Minister of Environment and Urban Planning of Turkey, Mehmet Ozhaseki, on his social networks.
The previous climatic maximum in the country was set in July 2021, when the temperature in Shirnak province was 49.1 degrees.
“According to the data of the Ministry of Environment, Urban Planning and Climate Change, on August 15, a new temperature record in the history of Turkey was recorded: 49.5 degrees in the village of Sarıcakaya, Eskisehir province”, - writes Ozhaseki.
