The National Environment Agency of the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture announced the findings of the studies conducted on the Black Sea water samples on July 26 and 30.
According to the agency, biogenic elements, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH), hard metals, and oil concentrations are within the norm.
From July 10, the National Environment Agency measures 59 chemical parameters of the Black Sea water once every ten days at 12 locations by having added three new stations to the existing 9 ones, at Anaklia-Ganmukhuri territory.
The samples are analyzed at an accredited lab. Conclusions are transparent and open to everyone.
The Agency has been monitoring the quality of the water at its nine stations every 10 days to identify the “main physical and chemical parameters” including salinity, content of dissolved oxygen and biogenic elements since concerns about the quality of the waters following the collapse of the Nova Kakhovka dam in Ukraine in July led to contaminated waters flowing into the Sea.
