Monday, August 7, will be declared day of mourning due to Shovi tragedy. Such a statement made today the Prime Minister of Georgia after the meeting held at the disaster liquidation emergency headquarters.

“I heard the information from the operational headquarters. 210 of our citizens were evacuated unharmed. Our police, our rescue service had a maximum mobilization on the site. None of our citizens who remained in the disaster zone has been left without attention and 210 citizens were evacuated unharmed. I want to thank the hero rescuers. Unfortunately, at this moment, 7 dead bodies have been found, the situation is very serious. More than 30 are still missing, but let’s wait for the results. Active works are going on.

They [rescuers] will actively continue working today and on the weekend, and according to our decision, a day of mourning will be announced on Monday”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
