An emergency meeting was held today in Oni municipality’s town hall regarding the disaster in Shovi.

Deputy Ministers of Internal Affairs, Ioseb Chelidze and Giorgi Butkhuzi, Head of Emergency Situations Management Service - Teimuraz Mghebrishvili, Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure - Irakli Karseladze, Director of Imereti, Racha Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti Police Department - Zaza Tshkakaia, and Governor of the region - Parmen Margvelidze, Deputy Head of Regional Liaison Department at the Government Administration - Merab Gamkrelidze and representatives of local government attended the emergency meeting.

At the meeting, the attendees discussed the ongoing rescue measures in the disaster area of Oni municipality and planned further actions.

As a result of the decision made during the working meeting, a hotline was created, which will operate in round-the-clock regime.
