A seminar was held for the employees of the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia on the topic - the national security environment of Georgia. The seminar was conducted by the Heads of the Administration and Information-Analytical Department of the State Security Service, Counter-Terrorist Center, Counter-Intelligence and Information-Analytical Departments and was supported by the EU project “Support to Security Sector Oversight in Georgia”.
At the two-day seminar, representatives of the Public Defender’s Office and the State Security Service reviewed various issues related to the country’s security. Among them, they talked about the security situation in the occupied territories, terrorism and fight against it, threats related to chemical, biological, radiation and nuclear issues, as well as hybrid threats and other issues.
Representatives of the Public Defender’s Office also received general information about the mandate, functioning and the work performed by the State Security Service.
