The Minister of Education and Science of Georgia is on an official visit to Hungary. Within the scope of his visit, Giorgi Amilakhvari held a working meeting with the Minister of Internal Affairs of Hungary, Sándor Pinter, who also oversees general education in Hungary.
Within the framework of the meeting, the parties discussed the ongoing reforms in the field of general education of both countries.
Amilakhvari informed his colleague about the steps taken towards the development of general education in Georgia, focusing on the large-scale infrastructural projects, including the construction-renovation of 800 schools, that was entirely initiated by the Prime Minister of Georgia.
On his part, Pinter, shared the best practices in Hungary in vocational development, teacher professional advancement, national curriculum, improvement of textbooks and digitization. He expressed readiness for close cooperation and support for the general education system of Georgia.
The parties agreed to start working on a cooperation agreement between the two countries in the field of general education, which will be signed during the official visit of the Hungarian Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers to Tbilisi.
