The Georgian side noted at the meeting that the behavior of one of the Polish doctors caused misunderstanding and concern - MFA

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs [MFA] released information about the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili, and the Acting Ambassador of Poland to Georgia, Mariusz Pietrzak.

“The Georgian side expressed concern over the incident relating to the Polish doctor, when one of the doctors tried to take Mikheil Saakashvili’s sample material out of the clinic in violation of the medical procedure.

It was once again explained to the Polish diplomat that the state was interested in the public having complete information about M. Saakashvili’s health condition. Accordingly, it has repeatedly expressed its readiness to admit foreign doctors to the clinic if the family wished so, as evidenced by the visit of Polish doctors to M. Saakashvili, with the family’s petition and the support of the Polish Embassy, despite the fact that the decision of the Strasbourg Court of Human Rights refused to transfer the former president to Poland for treatment.

At the meeting, the Georgian side emphasized that the behavior of one of the doctors included in the Polish medical mission caused misunderstanding, concern and also made the whole process lose credibility.

The Polish diplomat was asked at the MFA to state his position on the incident. Mariusz Pietrzak noted that he was not informed about what had caused the similar behavior of the Polish doctor”, - reads the statement of the agency.
