The Chairman of the Georgian Parliament responds to the crossing of the border between Georgia and Armenia using a biometric ID card.

“Exciting news! Now, citizens from Georgia and Armenia can effortlessly travel between the two countries using their convenient ID cards, replaces the passport travel system, granting greater flexibility and freedom to explore.

This is a remarkable opportunity for two friendly nations to foster closer connections through hassle-free travel”, - tweeted Shalva Papuashvili.

The viza-free agreement between Georgia and Armenia entered into force today, July 14. The Prime Ministers of both nations signed it on January 12, 2023. According to the Georgian Foreign Ministry, “the agreement seeks to introduce more favourable conditions for mutual traffic”.
