Irakli Garibashvili meets President of Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonies

Irakli Garibashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia met Francis Drouin, President of the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonies (APF) today.

Focus of the meeting was made on the current cooperation of the Government of Georgia and APF.

Significance of the interaction was highlighted at the meeting in the areas of culture and education. Cooperation of 5 Georgian universities with the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) was also underlined during the discussion.

Also, apart from the popularization of the French language, the role of APF was stressed in the development of democracy and protection of human rights, as it serves as a designated platform for its member states.

As the Head of Government of Georgia noted, the country stands ready to deepen its cooperation with the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonies (APF).

Meeting held within the Government Administration was followed with an award of a MÉDAILLE and DIPLÔME DU COMMANDEUR ORDRE to the Prime Minister of Georgia by Francis Drouin.

Meeting was attended by Bruno Fuchs, Secrétaire Général Parlementaire de l’Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonie (APF); Damien Cesselin, Secrétaire Général Administrative, APF. Attendees from the host country included Revaz Javelidze, Head of Government Administration and MP David Songhulashvili, Head of Permanent Delegation from the Parliament of Georgia to the Assemblée Parlementaire de la Francophonies (APF).
