Decision we heard from Ukraine was incomprehensible and baseless, friends do not deserve such an attitude, said the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, while commenting the decision of Ukraine, according to which the Ambassador of Georgia In Ukraine is asked to leave the country in 48 hours.

“I want to thank the Ambassador of Georgia to Ukraine and every diplomat, who served the best interests of Georgia in Kyiv, Ukraine, in a very difficult period and in a very difficult environment, on the one hand, and on the other hand, it was their attitude on the ground to actively support Ukraine, Ukrainian people and none of the diplomats stopped working for a single day, did not leave Kyiv.

Accordingly, the decision we heard from Ukraine was incomprehensible and baseless. Friends do not deserve such attitude. Until now, we traditionally had many cases when we heard an incomprehensible, unfair attitude towards Georgia from some Ukrainian politicians.

We traditionally remain calm. This is our attitude towards friendly people and country. We will certainly have time in the future to discuss these issues in bilateral formats. However, today we traditionally choose to express the position we have. We will not react to this. Accordingly, as we discussed, the Ambassador will return to Georgia in the near future.

Also, the basis itself, which became the cause of this incomprehensible decision, is very important. We think that everything is clear regarding the former president - all issues related to the extent to which the state takes responsibility for the rights of all prisoners, including Mr. Saakashvili, therefore, this issue itself is without foundation, because this decision was conditioned, as we heard, by this very issue.

Accordingly, we will continue to support the Ukrainian people, Ukraine to the best of our ability, as we have done so far. We very actively helped Ukraine from a humanitarian, political and diplomatic point of view. This is our responsibility, our dignified attitude towards our partner, we will continue this and one of the irresponsible attitudes, or the decision is towards us, cannot change this line”, - said Ilia Darchiashvili.
