Irakli Shotadze, Prosecutor General of Georgia, has met with Boštjan Škrlec, Vice President of Eurojust, the EU Agency for Judicial Cooperation.
The meeting took place at the Office of the Prosecutor General and was attended by Bakur Abuladze, First Deputy Prosecutor General; Giorgi Gogadze, Georgia’s liaison prosecutor at Eurojust; Revaz Baghashvili, Head of the Investigation Department; and Irakli Chilingarashvili, Head of the International Relations and Legal Affairs Unit.
During the meeting, Irakli Shotadze briefed Boštjan Škrlec on the ongoing reforms within the Prosecution Service of Georgia and its priority areas. The parties discussed matters related to cooperation between the Prosecution Service of Georgia and Eurojust, including future plans and the strengthening of mutual cooperation.
Boštjan Škrlec, Vice President of Eurojust, expressed gratitude to Irakli Shotadze for the efforts made by the Prosecution Service of Georgia that aim for effective and coordinate fight against transnational organized crime through cooperation with EU member states.
In turn, Irakli Shotadze thanked the guest for their interest in the activities of the Prosecution Service of Georgia and for sharing their experience.
By the conclusion of the meeting, the parties discussed plans for future cooperation between Eurojust and Georgia, including the activities to be implemented. Furthermore, they expressed a commitment to further deepen their cooperation in the future.
