In this case, the veto of the President was the right decision - Aleksandre Rakviashvili

According to Aleksandre Rakviashvili, a member of the “Girchi” parliamentary political group, the President’s veto on the changes in the electoral system was the right decision.

“I think that in this case, the veto was correct. Although theoretically, nothing may happen because of the one-party CEC chairman. If there was a problem during the elections, as it was after the 2020 elections, naturally, the CEC chairman elected by consensus would be much more effective.

When a person has the support of many parties, he will have more support and resources to play the role of mediation. The Georgian Dream took responsibility and if any problems arise during the elections, it will be clear that the ruling party will be responsible from the beginning to the end”, - says Aleksandre Rakviashvili.
