The Budget and Finance, and the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committees discussed and declined two candidates nominated by the President of Georgia to the vacant positions of the Member of the Board of the National Bank.

Information on candidates – Dimitri Japaridze and Giorgi Bakradze – were introduced by the Parliamentary Secretary of the President, Giorgi Mskhiladze.

The candidates overviewed their visions and priorities concerning the NB activity and answered the questions of MPs.

“We don’t put the competences of the candidates under the doubt but based on the world practice, the President and the Parliament shall communicate on a candidate acceptable for them both. The President is eligible to nominate, and the Parliament is eligible to approve or decline a candidate and the solution shall be achieved through the consultations”, - said the Chair of the Budget Committee, Paata Kvizhinadze.
