Georgia has achieved significant results in the field of cyber security, we have an appropriate legal framework and a national cyber security strategy, said the Prime Minister during his speech at the opening of the Georgian Cyber Security Forum 2023.

“In recent years, our country has achieved significant results in the field of cyber security: we have an appropriate legal framework and a national strategy for cyber security, in the implementation of which Government agencies and international partners are involved.

Agencies equipped with clearly delegated powers and staffed by qualified personnel are operating in the country, and our government is constantly working to strengthen their capabilities.

I would also like to point out that we are successfully cooperating with our strategic partners - the US, the UK, as well as other partners - the EU and NATO member states, in the direction of strengthening the country’s cyber security capabilities. The educational and research direction in the field of cyber security is also developing in our country, so that our country can keep pace with advanced technological changes.

As a conclusion, I would like to inform you that the joint efforts of the state and the private sector in the direction of digital transformation and technological development are the harbingers of a better, safer future for our country, and it is important that part of this process, as we have found out, is the strengthening of cyber security, and this ensures the sustainability of modern digital society and systems in general.

The importance of cyber security will increase even more in the coming years. As I mentioned at the beginning, we all know very well that this is already one of the main challenges of the 21st century, and of course, even more effort and attention will increase from our side.

It is important that there are different formats of discussion on this issue, and an example of this is today’s forum. Once again, on behalf of the Government, I want to confirm our readiness for cooperation”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
