Public Defender met miners in Chiatura who have gone on strike and listened to their problems. The participants in the strike presented their opinions regarding working conditions and asked Levan Ioseliani for help in mediation.
“The events taking place here are important for us, since it concerns one of the basic human rights - the right to work. We are involved in the process and within our capabilities we do our best to help achieve an agreement between the parties. The participants in the strike are not radical and are ready to make certain concessions. However, at the same time, they call on the other party to consider their demands”, - said the Ombudsman.
10 miners have been on hunger strike for the 4th day. Today, they organized a march through the streets of the city.
