The Georgian National Statistical Office has initiated the preparatory work for the General Population Census 2024 by visiting all municipalities in Imereti.
GeoStat has begun the first phase of work, which involves listing buildings and households in the targeted municipalities. This fieldwork will be carried out by trained staff over 15 days, utilizing tablets and modern technologies for data collection.
The General Population Census 2024 data collection will occur from November 14 to December 19, 2024. It will gather detailed information on population size, composition, and socio-economic and demographic conditions based on self-government units and settlements.
Population censuses are typically conducted every 10 years, with the previous one in Georgia held in 2014.
