Our European choice is not only legitimate, it has no alternative, because it is based on our value, our history, our struggle, our attitude, our vision for the European future, for Georgia to rejoin its European family, said the President of Georgia in her speech in the European Parliament.

“I want to thank each political group for giving me the opportunity to address this assembly. This is a great honor and a great responsibility for me. Madam President, it has been 13 years since the President of Georgia stood here and it is symbolic that I am coming here with the same aspiration shared by all citizens of Georgia that Georgia wants to join the European family.

This is a historical choice.

This determines our future, we are facing such a moment in the history of Georgia, where the government of Georgia, where its people and 27 countries have to decide together the future of Georgia. However, the Georgian nation has already decided this issue.

I stand before you and come out with this message - our European choice is not only legitimate, it has no alternative, because it is based on our value, our history, our struggle, our attitude, our vision for the European future is for Georgia to rejoin its European family.

I am here, as the head of the country, whose constitution obliges all state structures to take all necessary steps to support European integration. I will do it continuously, and I will do it not only to fulfill the requirements of the constitution, but also from a moral standpoint”, - said Salome Zourabichvili.
