The Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, Otar Shamugia, and the Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, István Nagy, signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to promote the trade in agri-food products.
During the official meeting, the parties addressed Georgia’s investment potential and prospects for increasing collaboration in the honey and wine export-related fields.
“Hungary’s assistance, partnership relationship, and exchange of experience from the Hungarian side are particularly important for us as a candidate country. During the meeting with the Minister of Agriculture of Hungary, we discussed the strengthening of cooperation in various sectors, including the possibility of increasing wine exports. There are all circumstances to support the business sector in establishing connections, and attracting investments in those sectors that may be attractive to the Hungarian side”, - said Otar Shamugia.
“Georgia has a great potential for agricultural development. I believe that signing the Memorandum will create a solid foundation for further deepening of existing relations, and I hope that our cooperation will yield tangible and mutually beneficial results shortly”, - added Istvan Nagy.
