Parliament adopted the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection for the I reading

The Parliament discussed for the I reading Draft Law on Personal Data Protection and unanimously adopted with 82 votes.

As the Draft prescribes, the basics for the processing of the personal data of the special category shall be supplemented by a new basis, namely, the new record allows the processing of the personal data of a person (conscript, reservist) on disability status in view of his/her exemption from the military service and conscription.

The respective amendment is to be introduced to the Law on Military Duty and Military Service, pursuant to which, the LEPL Medical and Pharmaceutical Activity Regulatory Agency at the Ministry of IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection shall provide the Regional Development and Infrastructure Ministry with real-time access to information on: recognition of a person (conscript, reservist) as a person with a disability; expiration of the validity of the disability status of a person (conscript, reservist), and verification of the disability status of a person within no more than 3 months. Pursuant to the amendment to the Law on Medical-Social Expertise, the norms shall be withdrawn from the Law, which envisages the obligation of a respective medical institution to, in case of recognition of a conscript as a person with a disability, inform the respective Military Enlistment office.
