We are steadily moving forward and our future goal is to join the European Union, said the Prime Minister of Georgia during his speech at the general debate held within the framework of the Summit of the Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe.

“We are progressing in different directions, joining the EU is our target. As you know, we have applied to join the EU, and this is the great goal of our country and our nation.

As you well know, we received a European perspective, thus proving that our future is in the EU. We are steadily moving forward and our future goal is to join the EU.

We are moving towards this goal and direction, and we are implementing all 12 recommendations in order to obtain candidate status. Our common history and international order show that there is no alternative to prosperity and peace in the world, Georgia protects these values and expects cooperation in the Council of Europe with you, thank you very much”, - said Irakli Garibashvili.
