Decision to be made regarding each application submitted to the CAA after the current status of the airlines, their aircrafts in relation to sanctions - Civil Aviation Agency

The Civil Aviation Agency [CAA] of Georgia has received applications from several airlines requesting regular air traffic between Georgia and Russia.

“Georgia’s firm position is that flights between Georgia and the Russian Federation will be performed only by airlines and aircraft that are not sanctioned. Accordingly, all applications submitted to the CAA, information and documentation submitted by airlines will be the subject of detailed study and verification by various mechanisms in relation to sanctions.

In addition, the CAA consults and studies the examples of those states that comply with the sanctions and at the same time have direct air traffic with the Russia.

We would like to inform you that as of today, the CAA of Georgia has received applications from several airlines requesting regular air traffic between Georgia and Russia.

We emphatically state that a decision will be made regarding each application submitted to the CAA after the current status of the airlines and their aircrafts in relation to international sanctions or restrictions are studied in detail, and flight permits will be issued according to the above-mentioned principle”, - reads the statement of the CAA.
