Irakli Garibashvili meets National Defense Minister of Portuguese Republic

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili met with Helena Carreiras, National Defense Minister of the Portuguese Republic. The dynamic of partnership between the two countries was reviewed and prospects of deepening the ongoing cooperation was discussed during the meeting.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of Portugal’s support for Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. According to the Prime Minister, granting the European perspective to Georgia has reiterated that Georgia’s future is in the EU.

The Head of Government thanked the National Defense Minister of the Portuguese Republic for firmly supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The conversation touched on the regional and global security environment and challenges.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Director of National Defense Policy/Brigadier General Ana Baltazar and Georgia’s Defense Minister Juansher Burchuladze.
