Senior Inspector of the Personal Protection Division of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs K.K. was arrested by employees of the Special Investigation Service for the fact of Intentional killing and Illegal carrying of firearms at Gogebashvili Str, Tbilisi.

According to the currently obtained evidence, it is established that on May 4, 2023, in the evening hours, near the restaurant “La Vera” on Gogebashvili Str in Tbilisi Senior Inspector of the Personal Protection Division of the Security Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs K.K. was with G.M the relative of the person to be protected and was talking on a mobile phone.

Suddenly, armed S.G. approached G.M. and fired several shots at him from a firearm and inflicted gunshot wounds on his legs. After this, S.G. tried to hide from the crime scene.

Senior Inspector of the Personal Protection Division did not give S.G. the opportunity to leave the crime scene and shot him several times in the body area with the firearm carrying in violation of law. S.G. died on the spot as a result of gunshot wounds of the chest.

The employees of the Special Investigation Service conducted urgent investigative and procedural actions on that case. In particular, the scene of the accident was inspected, from which research samples and other objects needed for examination were removed.

Witnesses near the incident were interviewed, video recordings of the incident were requested from private facilities, clothes belonging to the persons involved in the incident, comparable samples and other physical evidence were also obtained. The crime firearm was removed. A forensic medical examination was appointed. Also, in order to answer questions of interest to the investigation, biological, chemical, ballistic, trasological and other relevant examinations will be appointed.

The Special Investigation Service continues to conduct all necessary investigative and procedural actions in an intensive mode in order to ensure an effective investigation.
