“Today, the UNM faces the most serious political challenge, which is related to the existence of political prisoners in the country and, first of all, the health and life of Mikheil Saakashvili - as well as the issue of his release from illegal political captivity.

The decision of the European Court of Justice is only a few weeks away. Right now this is a matter where the demonstration of unity is a task of utmost importance.

In this situation, it is necessary that no political process is allowed in the party, which may contribute to the deepening of confrontation, disintegration and alienation.

Once again: beyond this most important issue, especially in such a critical time and situation, all internal party issues and especially heated election campaigns are of secondary importance and, moreover, may cause irreparable damage to our political power”, - writes Nika Melia.
