MIA arrested 9 persons on drug-related charges, including 4 drug dealers

As a result of recent operational measures and investigative actions, officers of the Main Division for Combating Illegal Drug Trafficking of the Central Criminal Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 9 persons on drug-related charges, including 4 drug dealers. Among detainees are citizens of Georgia and other countries as well.

The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal selling and attempted selling of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances in a particularly large amount committed by a group, with a prior agreement: G.A. (DoB 2002), I.I. (DoB 2003), and foreign citizens: A.V. (DoB 1992), and A.M. (DoB 2001).

The following persons have been arrested on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a particularly large amount of narcotics: M.C. (DoB 1984), and persons with previous convictions: M.C. (DoB 1989), G.L. (DoB 1989), D.S. (DoB 1967), and M.F. (DoB 1974).

The committed crimes are punishable up to 20 years or life imprisonment. The police, based on a judge’s ruling, have repeatedly conducted controlled drug purchases from persons arrested on charges of illegal drug sales and secretly recorded the aforementioned purchases.

Law enforcement officers, during personal search and search activities held in detainees’ residential homes and vehicles, seized a particularly large amount of various types of narcotic drugs, including - heroin, cocaine, Alpha PVP, Methadone, Tramadol, Pregabalin, Lyrica and about 3,000 Subotex pills containing buprenorphine as evidence. The investigation is in progress under Articles 260, 19-260 and 19-261 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
