Despite security challenges, Georgia has managed to become an economically attractive country and implement economic reforms - Maka Botchorishvili

Despite security challenges, Georgia has managed to become an economically attractive country and implement economic reforms. Such a statement the Minister pf Foreign Affairs made in New Delhi, where she is on an official visit.

“Our main message, of course, is that despite the security challenges Georgia faces, our country has managed to become an economically attractive country and has implemented economic reforms that now allow it to play an important role in the region, to play an important role in the development of the Middle Corridor.

The Middle Corridor is essential for countries situated in both the East and the West. This provided a valuable opportunity for our partners to clearly recognize Georgia’s position, location, and capabilities. It is important to consider that Georgia is precisely the hub that should be utilized when discussing the development of connectivity and exploring new routes.

International forums generally provide good opportunities for communication and exchange of ideas with partners.

We should make maximum use of this opportunity, and we are doing so. This is also a good opportunity for us to communicate Georgia’s positions to our partners, including those positions for which Georgia has been subjected to unfair criticism for a long time, and we still often hear such criticism from our European colleagues.

Of course, this is an excellent opportunity to engage with my colleagues once again, encouraging them to properly assess reality, understand the true situation, and refrain from relying on preconceived notions, which they often reference, claiming that changing perceptions is extremely challenging”, - said Maka Botchorishvili.
