Police measures to disperse the protest rally have begun on Rustaveli Avenue. Earlier, police forces called on the rally participants to disperse. Despite the call, the rally participants remain on Rustaveli Avenue.
Some of the demonstrators are throwing certain items and pyrotechnics at law enforcement officers.
Before the rally began to disperse, the situation near the legislative body was periodically tense.
In addition, before the dispersal, the Ministry of Internal Affairs issued a statement stating that the agency would use special means provided for by law against the members of the violent group of protesters in order to liberate the area surrounding the parliament.
The protest rally in Tbilisi has been ongoing for the 5th day. The citizens’ protest followed the Government’s statement that the opening of negotiations with the European Union would not be on the agenda until 2028.
