MIA will resort to special measures provided by law against the members of the violent group of the protest in order to clear up the territory surrounding the Parliament - MIA

At the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue, as in previous days, violent actions were soon observed by certain groups participating in the rally, which was manifested in confrontation with the police forces stationed at the front entrance of the Parliament, reads the statement, issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

“In particular, members of the violent group are throwing various objects, stones, glass bottles and pyrotechnics in the direction of the police.

In addition to the mentioned, it was clearly seen through various media sources that the participants of the rally are equipped with various prohibited items, which they are actively using against the police.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs, right after the start of the rally, issued a corresponding appeal to the organizers and participants of the rally, that the gathering should be a peaceful manifestation and held within the norms established by the law.

Despite the call of the Ministry, the ongoing protest on Rustaveli Avenue went beyond the limits of peaceful gathering, therefore, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will resort to special measures provided by law against the members of the violent group of the protest in order to clear up the territory surrounding the Parliament building”, - says the agency.
