The Public Defender echoes the crackdown on the rally on Rustaveli Avenue (21:15-22:00). As we have repeatedly indicated in recent days, in the event that specific individuals commit violent acts, appropriate proportionate measures should be taken against them individually and peaceful assemblies should not be dispersed.

The Ombudsman calls on the Ministry of Internal Affairs not to use special equipment against participants in the peaceful rally and not to continue to disperse the assembly.
