At the session of the Sports Committee, the draft law on amendments to the Law of Georgia on the Structure, Powers and Rules of Operation of the Government of Georgia was reviewed in its second reading.

The legislative amendment, aimed at reorganizing the Ministry of Culture and Sport into two separate state entities - the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Sport - was presented to committee members by the government’s parliamentary secretary, Vakhtang Bachiashvili.

The presenter introduced the draft law article by article and highlighted the changes made after the first reading. According to him, the principles of the draft law remain unchanged in the current version, with the only modification involving the creation of an advisory body - a commission - within the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

The committee members unanimously supported the draft law.
