Georgian Foreign Minister said the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze’s participation in the European Political Community Summit in Budapest is “very important”.
In his remarks on the upcoming event, Ilia Darchiashvili highlighted the Summit, which will be attended by the leaders of the European Union member and candidate states, as a “very significant” format established at the initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron for “bringing the politically associated countries closer” to the bloc.
“The Prime Minister will participate in various types of discussions and will be the first on the topic of economic security. The economic development of Georgia is one of the main priorities for our country, and Irakli Kobakhidze will deliver a speech at this discussion, chaired by the Chancellor of Germany.
It is very important that the Prime Minister will participate in the summary plenary session, where the discussion held together with the leaders of the EU member states and candidate countries will be summarized.
We think that it is very important for us to participate in a similar platform, since one of the main lines of our country’s foreign policy priority is European integration, and in addition to the bilateral cooperation between Georgia and the EU, we use all opportunities for Georgia to successfully continue its European integration”, - explained Ilia Darchiashvili.
