Georgia earned 77.9% on a 100% assessment system and ranked 35th out of 189 countries - Worldwide Governance Indicators research

The World Bank’s Worldwide Governance Indicators published a Government Effectiveness Indicator, marking a new historic high for Georgia.

In particular, Georgia earned 77.9% on a 100% assessment system and ranked 35th out of 189 countries.

The Indicator revealed that Georgia was outperforming one country from the G7, 12 members of the EU, 14 members of NATO and all EU membership candidate countries. Besides, Georgia ranks 1st in the Caucasus and Black Sea region, and in the post-Soviet space it only falls behind Lithuania and Estonia.

The research also includes the Control of Corruption Indicator in which Georgia earned 71.2% on a 100% assessment system and ranked first in the Caucasus and the Black Sea region.

The Control of Corruption indicator revealed that Georgia was outperforming one country from G7, 10 members of the EU, 12 members of NATO and all EU membership candidate countries. In the post-Soviet countries, Georgia is 2nd only to Baltic states. 9 international assessment centres evaluated Georgia in the Control of Corruption aggregate, which placed the country in the best platoons, or among the best platoons in Europe by 7 assessments out of 9 organisations.

The research also includes the Rule of Law Indicator, which revealed that Georgia is outperforming 5 members of NATO and all EU membership candidate countries. In the post-Soviet countries, Georgia is 4th only to Baltic states and is 2nd only to Romania in the Black Sea region.

The research also included the Regulatory Quality indicator, which scored Georgia with 79.7% on a 100% evaluation system and ranked 32nd among 189 World Bank member countries and 19th among the top 20 in Europe.
