With the backing of the National Wine Agency and the coordination of the agency’s contracted firm “O-Lile” in Poland, a 2-day festival showcasing Georgian wine took place at the renowned historic palace in Krakow.
Approximately 20 Georgian wine companies, comprising large, medium, and small producers, took part in the festival.
The event was attended by local importers, representatives from the HoReCa sector, wine consumers, journalists, and bloggers, totaling approximately 1000 guests. Events of this nature play a crucial role in increasing awareness of Georgian wine and expanding export opportunities.
The festival coincided with a concert featuring Georgian singers and dancers.
“This is the most effective method of promoting Georgian wine among Polish consumers and tourists. It provides them with a remarkable opportunity to sample a variety of unique Georgian wines, including Kisi, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, and more, while also showcasing diverse winemaking techniques’’, - said Mariusz Kapczynski, the editor-in-chief of Vinisfera, one of Poland’s prestigious wine-themed publishing houses, who has been collaborating with the National Wine Agency for several years in the promotion of Georgian wine.
Poland is a key export market for Georgian wine, where numerous marketing events are held throughout the year with the assistance of the National Wine Agency. As a consequence, Poland has consistently secured its position among the top five exporting countries for Georgian wine. Based on the data from the first six months of the current year, a total of 3.2 million liters of wine were exported from Georgia to Poland, indicating a 19% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.
