My door is always open. Such a statement made today the Chairman of the Parliament while commenting Namakhvani HPP protests.

“Varlam Goletiani [one of the organizers of the protest rally] was contacted from my office regarding the meeting, for a very simple reason - to get to know and hear how much they see the need for the legislature to get involved in this discussion, create a special group and bring the positions closer as soon as possible.

This process must be public. The format we were offered was certainly not constructive, as it was physically impossible to discuss the issues with hundreds of people.

As it known during the chairmanship of the Environment Committee we really had the practice of setting up a working group on similar issues and all our meetings were broadcast live, including on Facebook.

My door is always open, if they want, I can meet as many people as possible to have a constructive conversation. If they consider that the format I am proposing is acceptable, I will gladly continue to involve all parties engaged in the process in a transparent manner in any form”, -said Kakha Kuchava.
