Heavy rain has caused problems in Batumi. Streets, basements of residential buildings and plots of land were flooded. Approximately 90 reports were received at the City Hall.

The Mayor of Batumi inspected the liquidation works for the damage caused by the heavy rainfall. According to Archil Chikovani, the population will be compensated for the damage.

“The heavy rainfall has created a number of challenges in Batumi. Appliances from citizens regarding the flooding of land plots and yards have been received from approximately 90 addresses. Pumping works are underway at each location, and the channels leading to the sea are being intensively cleaned. Special equipment has been mobilized and all municipal services are working in a special mode.

At the same time, within the framework of the permanent commission, all our fellow citizens, all Batumi residents, will, of course, be compensated and satisfied for the claims and expenses incurred as a result of the natural disaster. The bad weather will continue in the coming days. Accordingly, we continue to work”, - said Archil Chikovani.
