I would like to start by thanking, especially thanking, Mr. Bidzina Ivanishvili, a proud and distinguished person for us. I have always said that I am proud and happy that in such a difficult and challenging era, I have to defend our country together with this person. Such a statement made the presidential candidate of the Georgian Dream, Mikheil Kavelashvili.

“I would like to thank my comrades, each member of the majority, for expressing their confidence. I am aware of the great responsibility of the position of the President of Georgia, especially in the context when, unfortunately for us, the current President directly insulted and ignored our main document - the Constitution of Georgia and continues to violate it today.

Our society is divided, radicalization and polarization are being stirred up, our ill-wishers are helping to intensify this process even more, therefore, one of the main goals and missions will be to return the institution of the President to the constitutional framework.

We have a meticulously structured constitution, and the presidential institution bears significant responsibility.

The foremost requirement is that the President of Georgia must be non-partisan and act as a unifying force for society. In Georgia, we are taught that hatred divides and opposes people; rather, love is what brings us together.

I want to assure you that my love for my homeland is boundless. I will do everything possible to unite Georgian society around national interests, identity, and our country’s independence. I am confident that society will stand with us to strengthen our Georgia even further. May God be our protector”, - said Mikheil Kavelashvili.
