The armed person, who broke into the Avlabari branch of the Bank of Georgia, has been detained.

According to the Head of the Patrol Police Department Vazha Siradze, the hostages have been released and taken to a safe place.

“The attacker was alone, and he took hostages. The attacker has been arrested, and the hostages have been released following the active investigative actions. No one was injured. An investigation has been launched into the incident. The Ministry of Internal Affairs will provide accurate information about the demands and other details, and also the number of hostages later”, - said Vazha Siradze.

The special operation lasted for two hours.
