
The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, attended a civil funeral service at the Sameba Cathedral for those repatriated from the occupied region of Abkhazia who had gone missing during the armed conflicts of the 1990s.
Remains of 6 identified persons - 5 military personnel and 1 civilian - were repatriated through the cooperation of the Office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation and Civic Equality and International Committee of Red Cross.
Two of the fallen soldiers will be buried with military honors at the Dighomi Brothers` Cemetery, while the others will be laid to rest in family cemeteries according to the wishes of their relatives.
