The Mayor of Tbilisi said today that opposition had no chance of winning in the upcoming local self-government elections, noting that they are doomed to fail in every district and city.

"I cannot tell you what decision the opposition will ultimately make regarding the local municipal elections. I understand their fears, because they are doomed to fail. They have no chance of winning in any district, any city, both at the mayoral and city council levels. Therefore, of course, they have no desire to engage in a losing battle, but we will see how events develop.

We have already started preparing for the elections, holding meetings, and introducing new initiatives. The most important thing is that we have never stopped engaging with the public. People are our top priority, and all our projects are aimed at ensuring convenience in the city, creating opportunities for young people, and developing parks, recreational areas, and sports facilities. We will do everything to present [ourselves] in the local [municipal] elections with dignity and achieve success", - said Kakha Kaladze.
